Are We There Yet?
I’m on such an Ingrid Michaelson kick right now. I love it. So much beauty from one person. Of course, the songs are a little bittersweet, but aren’t us strange and twisty artist types supposed to like the dark?
They say you’re really not somebody until somebody else loves you. Well I am waiting to make somebody somebody soon.
Almost Like Reality
So, yesterday I had a callback for Shakespeare in the Park in Calgary to play Helena. Yet, that seems like a thousand years ago. I got back late last night, and I had work followed by rehearsal tonight. Thank goodness I work in a restaurant so they fed me as part of my training. It’s crazy. It’s almost as if I have to grow up and do things like get a real job and organize my life. Tomorrow I will do laundry and buy groceries. Welcome to the world young Alice. No more excursions down the rabbit hole for you.
Every Goodbye is Hello
Clearing out my locker at Grant Mac was oddly like moving out. It left me feeling strange and empty. Given that I’ve been counting down the days like nobody’s business for a month at least, actually having it all be over gave me very mixed emotions. Don’t get me wrong, there were a lot of times, especially in Second Year, that I wanted to walk out that door and never go back. But I’m glad I stuck out the hard parts, so that all the wonderful things could happen. I’m glad that I met people who will be in my life as friends and colleagues forever. I’m glad that I found me as I was finding them. I’m glad that I now know I can survive anything, because nothing will ever be as hard as forcing myself to a 9:00AM dance class on a Wednesday. I’m so excited to find out what my next adventure will be, and to see all my friends go forward and make their mark in the acting world. I love you guys so much. You might even say, you will always be a part of me. Congratulations Theatre Arts Class of 2012. WE DID IT!

“It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.”

A dress should be tight enough to show you’re a woman, and loose enough to show you’re a lady.
– Edith HeadSonnet 116 (Feeling Sentimental)
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
